The Harding Nursing Home is located in Waterville, a rural community in central New York about 20 miles from Utica and the New York State Thruway (map it!). The village is comprised of about 1800 people and provides all essential services such as police and fire protection. The Home itself is situated on acres of semiwooded grounds with landscaped lawns set back from a residential street only one block from the shopping district.

Fire resistant construction of concrete and cement block is used throughout the facility. Private and semiprivate rooms with shared bathroom facilities provide comfortable living accommodations for 92 people. Each resident is supplied with a bed, nightstand, dresser and closet space, allowing sufficient room for favorite personal furnishing and possessions. Cable television is available in resident rooms for a nominal fee. Beautician and barber services are available.

The Housekeeping Department maintains rooms, furnishings and all other areas thoroughly so that there is a healthful environment and the beauty of the building is maintained. Employees receive instruction concerning courtesy, confidentiality of resident information, personal appearance and the importance of their interest in our residents' lives.

The laundry is a complete automatic system. Employees load the machines and all soaps, bleaches, softeners, etc. are added mechanically at the proper time in the cycle. Clothing is marked with the resident's name and can be laundered and returned to its owner daily. Dry Cleaning pickup and delivery is conducted twice a week.

The Purchasing Department gives special attention to quality. All supplies are purchased at the best possible price for the needs of the residents.

The office staff provides all departments with secretarial accounting skills, as well as cheerful assistance to residents and visitors when accounting or general information is needed.

Out-going mail is picked up daily (except Sundays) and incoming mail is delivered personally. Newspaper delivery is also available.
